Research Based Academic Programs
Reading:
Our reading program is based on phonemic awareness. Phonemic awareness is the
foundation of efficient reading skills, including comprehension. By mastering
these foundational skills, students develop the ability and confidence necessary
to be successful readers. As students progress through this program, all areas
related to reading substantially improve including comprehension, spelling and
written expression.
Math:
Our math program works to improve processing and organizational skills
along with learning specific math facts. Much like our reading program, we use a
multi-sensory approach to build an understanding of foundational math
principles. By teaching the process of problem solving and organizational
techniques, we help students increase their current performance and prepare a
foundation for higher order learning and processing skills.
Study skills:
One of the challenges facing many of today’s students is the lack of effective
study and organizational skills. This can affect performance in all areas of
study. We teach students how to read material for content, organize their
writing, prepare for tests and take tests. By providing research-based study
skills, students gain the confidence and ability to successfully complete school
assignments and improve test scores.
One-to-one Student-Teacher Ratio:
Our one-to-one student-teacher ratio ensures instruction that is tailored to the
particular needs of each student. Individual teaching rooms eliminate
distractions and allow for focused attention, particularly important for
students with attention difficulties.
Sensory –Based Activities:
One of the keys that make Bright Futures Learning unique is our integration of
sensory activities into our overall academic program. Because all information is
processed through the senses, the integration of sensory awareness allows us to
increase the student’s general ability to absorb information. Students who are
deficient in processing information effectively can become overwhelmed,
exhausted and frustrated in addition to performing poorly in school. By
addressing sensory processing issues the student can become a better learner
overall.
Frequent Contact With the Student’s Teacher(s):
We communicate as often as necessary with the student’s teacher. This allows us
to ensure that the skills acquired at our centers are being carried over into
the school setting. We can monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to
our program based on actual in-school performance.
Professional Staff:
Each center is staffed with credentialed and highly qualilified teachers. Our
teachers have extensive experience working with students who have
learning difficulties. This highly qualified staff works as a team to address
each student’s needs and to find their optimum learning method.
Collaborative Goal Setting:
After completing an initial evaluation, we meet with the parents to discuss our
assessment. Based on the evaluation and information from parents, we propose a
plan to make your student more successful in school.
Individualized Treatment Plans:
With evaluation-based goals written, we prepare an individualized treatment plan
for each student. This plan establishes where we will focus our efforts, the
program duration and the mix between academic and sensory sessions.
Our Guarantee:
We are committed to helping your child achieve the goals established in the
initial treatment plan. If these goals have not been met by the end of the
planned program duration, we will provide an additional month of service at no
cost.
Payment:
We have a variety of payment options available. We invite you to speak with a
representative from your local center to determine which method will best meet
your needs.
