We were pleased with BFL services. We liked the structure and how the various components fit into timed segments. The Bright Futures program is reflective of good research and complemented what our teachers were doing in the regular classrooms. It made a difference with comprehension for the identified students in grades 2-4.

We experienced much success with our third and fourth graders who were served by Bright Futures. MAP scores and the data from BFL revealed an increase in almost 100% of the students. In addition to the increase in scores, we had a child break down and cry because she was so excited about her MAP score in reading. BFL staff were organized, prompt in responding to our questions, and conducted a thorough training.

Delmarkus has taken another STAR test to access his reading level. He has moved from a 1.8 to a 2.6 reading level in just 4 months time!! Please keep helping him decode words and learn his sounds. Also, have him reread for fluency and to see if it makes sense. Thank you!

Andrew was in a special education classroom, not because he couldn’t do any of the work, but because he was ADHD. Andrew wasn’t being challenged in any school work. Since Andrew was in kindergarten he had been going to another learning center. I saw no improvement. Then one Sunday morning a friend at church told me about Bright Futures. The following day I called and spoke with Pam. (At that time, I did not realize how not only Andrew, buy myself was going to be blessed with that one phone call.) We talked and made an appointment for Pam and her staff to do an evaluation on Andrew.

When Andrew started going to Bright Futures, he was making D’s and F’s. Andrew was truly struggling to keep his head above water. Within a short while I started seeing a change in him, nothing drastic but little changes. Andrew’s self-confidence was being boosted up. Then report cards came out. Andrew’s D’s and F’s had come up to C’s then B’s and some A’s. Andrew is now in the third grade and doing fourth grade work. He has a B average!! He played soccer and was able to focus on the ball and did so well that he made All Stars!!

It has been right at a year since Andrew has had to go to Bright Futures, he continues using the skills that Pam and her staff have taught him and he continues to be successful!!

When Anna first entered the Bright Futures Program, her confidence level was very low and school to her was just a burden. As her parents, we were frustrated and hated to watch her struggle day after day. Bright Futures gave us all hope and most importantly gave Anna the boost she needed to begin to feel more confident about her school work. Nothing can prepare you as a parent for a child that is struggling academically without an apparent reason for his failures. You come to realize that no amount of hard work, medications, punishment, tutoring and lots of tears will make a difference.

The very best day in my child’s life was the day I called Bright Futures. From the first call, I knew that I had finally found the help I needed for Cameron.

We have had a wonderful positive experience. Grades have improved but more importantly, Cameron has gained the organizational skills and motivation needed to really want to improve grades. The staff’s concerns and interest for each child is real and genuine.

Cade has made 4 100's in school this week. He is doing so great. He came home yesterday and said that he is the happiest he has been in a long time. He feels so confident. He is paying attention better than some of the other children. He made a 100 on reciting the Ten Commandments. His confidence and self-esteem are so much better. The teacher said he got right up out of his seat and walked to the front of the classroom and stood there and recited the Ten Commandments. Last year he would not have wanted to get up in front of the classroom. Now he has the confidence he needs.
